The Dos and Don'ts of Wearing Flip-Flops

Flip-flops or "slippers" if you like, are not fashion abberations. Well, at least when worn right. But then, how many people do it right? As you read this, if you are on the road, in the office, at a resturant, look around you... You'll see at least one of the first five people you sight wearing flip-flops. There are about six around me right now and I really wanna take pictures. But I'm gonna be really obvious. Lol.
See, besides the fact that it is an abuse of fashion and that you really look weird when you're in them at the wrong times and places, you definitely can not be seen as much, no matter what your genuine worth is. Funny how something so simple as wearing flip-flops can mar your image, yeah? Well, it's avoidable.
Never wear flip-flops to work. As in NEVER! I don't care whether or not you're a waitress, a janitor or even a boss. Whether it's Friday or not, it should never happen!
Never wear them to a bar, a nightclub or a concert or anywhere you are going to be standing in a crowd of people. Besides being unsightly, it is dangerous. You are going to get your feet stomped on. That is what happens in crowds of people. And if you're drunk at a bar, glasses are dropped and beer bottles fall, and if that happens on your naked foot, you're going straight to the emergency room.
Never wear flip;flops to a formal occasion; dinner, wedding, cocktail, funeral, seminar, etc. No matter where the venue is.
If You're out to get groceries, it's okay to wanna feel comfortable. Wearing sandals is more appropriate than wearing flip-flops.
Of course, it's okay to wear your flip-flops at home. It doesn't matter what time of year it is, who is coming over, or what you do for a living. If you are at home, rock whatever you want! But, as soon as you open that door, you better have something appropriate for the occasion and time of year. Don't even think of compromising.
Now, it doesn't matter how much your flip-flops cost, what materials they are made of, whether they are Prada flip-flops or nada. As long as they are still called flip-flops, they are subject to the same dos and don'ts.
