It's pathetic when I hear so many negative stories about the outcomes of this trending "craze" when there are more natural and safer ways to achieve the perfect set of lips; no side effects, no waste of money. Most of the time, this situation is no victim's fault, naivety has its price. But not to worry, Coygirl fashion is here to save the day! *smiles*.
There is a daily and a weekly routine I recommend. I do them and trust me, they are really effective with no stress attached.
Form the habit of brushing your lips just as you brush your teeth every time, everyday. It helps remove part of the deposit of dead cells on your lips. Dead cells cause your lips to darken up and make them scaly.
Applying lip balm whenever you don't have lipsticks on helps to keep your lips soft, just like moisturizers on the body.
On a weekly basis, I recommend you exfoliate your lips. How? Mix a tablespoon of sugar, preferrably brown, with just enough honey (or olive oil) to get it to stick together. Once a week (twice at the very max) rub the scrub onto your lips, vigorously enough to loosen the dead skin. Let it sit for 2-3 minute, and then wipe off with a damp washcloth. Apply lip balm after use.
Use shades of lipsticks that look good with your skin colour. The most flattering lip tones will be one or two shades darker than your natural lip color, according to makeup artist Bobbi Brown. To test shades, apply lipstick or gloss to one lip. If that color is just a shade or two deeper than your bare lip, then you've found your shade. If you have thin lips, stay away from dark shades.
Contouring your lips following your lip shape helps to make your lips look fuller. Contouring works better when you line your lips and you'll achieve that much desired kissable lips.
